My friends suggested I switch over to Dr Rosenbloom after an uncomfortable experience with my previous Ophthalmologist. I find Dr Rosenblum gentle, compassionate and knowledgable. He takes time to answer my many questions, and has an excellent “chair side” manner. He even draws pictures for my persistent questioning mind! I recently had a laser procedure from him, which went smoothly and easily. All his staff and front office are also excellent.

I see Dr. Nakajima once a year for an eye exam. She is so kind and patient. She always goes above and beyond, and I appreciate all her knowledge and experience. I highly recommend Dr. Nakajima and Monterey Ete Center.

When i had my initial meeting with Dr. Shi, she apprised me that my right eye vision was substantially obscured and that i needed surgery to remove the cataract. I was terrified of eye surgery! I had right eye cataract surgery on November 2025. I had left eye cataract surgery in February 2026, both with stents to stem progressive glaucoma. The surgeries were both successful. Dr.Shi did a great job. At my age good news is unexpected but after the sugeries and a reasonable healing period 6-8 weeks, my vision in each eye and both eyes is great. I dont need glasses! Dr. Shi (opthalmologist and surgeon) was brilliant. Her work exemplary and my vision is better than expected. She is highly conscientioous regarding follow up care. Dr. Nakajima (optometrist) was also fantastic in the completeness of her examination, addressing my concerns and insurance considerations. The techs here have all been lovely and caring people and highly competent. The receptionists are nice too even when they're busy. Its actually a busy but excellent place. Everyone iis supportive and responsive includiing, but not linited, to the wonderful Alejandra who called me back after only 2 days, scheduled surgery on my left eye and all related appointments with a follow up email. Everyone is highly responsive- competent, patient- courteous. These are intelligent and warm hearted people who care about their patients in a busy yet supportive practice. I was lucky to find them. Sometimes the doctors run a little late. Both Dr. Shi and Dr. Nakajima are extremely thorough and grant patients sufficient time for questions and to allay any concerns. Every consult with these professionals was always well worth the wait.
